What makes branded merchandise sustainable?

“Sustainable” and “eco friendly” are adjectives, not evidence. The useful question is: what is this product made of, or what does it do, that someone can check? Every product here is listed with exactly what its product page states. If it says “reusable”, we do not upgrade that into a claim about the materials.

In practice the eco friendly branded merchandise in our catalogue falls into four groups:

Recycled materials: recycled cotton, a recycled cotton blend, recycled polyester and recycled ripstop nylon, plus a pen with recycled aluminium details.
Organic and renewable materials: organic cotton, bamboo, renewable cork, soy wax and tree-free stone paper.
Reusable products: stainless steel, metal and borosilicate glass bottles designed to replace single-use bottles.
Documented paper, card and textiles: notebooks and gift boxes whose product pages say “certified on request”, and a basic clothing and tote range whose pages state a “responsible composition” with documentation per batch.

Recycled tote bags and bags

Tote bags are the most common eco friendly promotional merchandise for events, because people carry them long after the day. The Canvas Market Tote Bag is recycled cotton with long shoulder handles, and the Fold Packable Tote Bag is recycled ripstop nylon that folds into its own pouch. Branded eco notebooks

The Slate Stone Paper Notebook uses tree-free stone paper that its product page describes as waterproof and tear-resistant. The Forma Notebook (A5 hardcover, lay-flat) and the Ledger Hardcover Journal(A5, linen-bound) state “Paper; certified on request”: the paper certificate is available on request, and the quote confirms which document applies. Branded reusable water bottles

The bottles carry the “reusable” attribute: the Brook Glass Bottle (600 ml borosilicate glass with a sleeve), the High-Grade Steel Bottle, the Customisable Sipper Bottle and the Atlas Steel Bottle (750 ml double-wall stainless steel). Compare materials and engraving on branded water bottles.

Organic and recycled clothing

The Verde Organic T-Shirt is organic cotton, branded with water-based screen printing or embroidery. The Cinder Heavyweight Hoodie is a recycled cotton blend. The Sustainable T-Shirt, Sustainable Polo and Sustainable Hoodie state a responsible composition with documentation per batch: ask for that documentation before describing the garments to staff or clients. The Quill Bamboo Pen combines bamboo with recycled aluminium details; the Terrain Cork Desk Mat is renewable cork and the Align Monitor Stand is bamboo, all laser engraved. How to judge eco claims before you buy

Whoever supplies your sustainable branded merchandise, the same four checks apply. Our guide on how to verify sustainable branded merchandise covers them in more depth.

Ask what, exactly, the claim refers to

A useful claim names a material (“recycled polyester”) or a function (“reusable”) and says which part of the product it covers. A backpack with a recycled polyester shell is not a backpack made entirely from recycled materials.

Ask for the document, not the adjective

Where a claim depends on a certificate, ask to see it: it names the standard, the issuer, the holder, what it covers and until when. Check that your batch is covered

A valid certificate does not mean your order came from a covered batch. If you will report on it, ask for confirmation for your batch.

Say only what you can document

Describe the products in the same words the documentation uses. That protects your brand as much as ours.

What we can document for your order

A product page on its own does not prove a certificate. On this page we use the exact attribute each product page states. Where a product page says “certified on request” (the Crate Premium Gift Box, the Forma Notebook and the Ledger Hardcover Journal), the certificate is available on request and the quote states which document applies. Where it says “documentation per batch” (the Sustainable Tote Bag, the Sustainable T-Shirt, the Sustainable Polo and the Sustainable Hoodie), we send the composition documentation for your batch. For every other product, the attribute is a description of the material or design, not a certificate, and we do not present it as one.

If your order has sustainability requirements, tell us in the quote request. We confirm the composition and any document that applies to the batch in writing before production. Every quote also includes an estimated carbon footprint per product, and we can prepare sustainability reports with Scope 3 data for the merchandise you buy, which is useful if your team reports on purchased goods. Starting prices are per unit, from the live catalogue. Indicative price, ex VAT; printing and delivery extra. UK import VAT and duties are paid on delivery. Minimums run from 15 units (the Align Monitor Stand and the Traverse Backpack) to 100 units (the Quill Bamboo Pen).

What changes the price

Branding method: screen printing, embroidery, engraving and foil stamping each have different set-up costs.
Colours and positions: each screen printed colour needs its own screen, and a second position is quoted separately.
Quantity: set-up is spread over more units as the run grows.
Packaging: a gift box or individual packing adds a cost per unit.
Delivery: one address or a parcel per person, and the destination countries, change the transport cost.

Ordering online or by quote

Four products can be ordered online at a fixed price from their product pages: the Verde Organic T-Shirt, the High-Grade Steel Bottle, the Customisable Sipper Bottle and the Cinder Heavyweight Hoodie. For everything else, mixed kits or deliveries to many addresses, request a quote. Requesting a quote does not require payment.

A vector file (PDF, SVG or EPS) or a high-resolution PNG with a transparent background, with the method and position you prefer.
Approve the digital proof
A specialist replies with an itemised quote and a digital proof showing the position, size and colours of the logo. Nothing is produced until you approve it.
Production and delivery
Production starts when you approve the proof and takes 10 to 20 working days, confirmed in the quote. We deliver across the UK and internationally to Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Americas.

What counts as sustainable branded merchandise?

Branded products made from lower-impact materials, such as recycled or organic fibres, bamboo or cork, or designed to be reused, where the attribute can be stated and checked. On this page each product shows exactly what its product page states.

Is eco friendly branded merchandise certified?

Not automatically. Where a product page says “certified on request” (currently the Crate Premium Gift Box, the Forma Notebook and the Ledger Hardcover Journal), the certificate is available on request. Clothing and totes marked “documentation per batch” come with composition documentation for your batch. Other products describe a material or a reusable design, which is not a certificate.

What is the minimum order?

Each product sets its own minimum, currently 15 to 100 units depending on the product. The quote confirms it with the branding method and variant.

How much does eco friendly promotional merchandise cost?

Products currently start from £3.93 per unit ex VAT (the Canvas Market Tote Bag), before branding and delivery. The final price depends on the method, colours, positions, quantity, packaging and delivery, all itemised in the quote.

Do you have branded eco notebooks?

Yes: the Slate Stone Paper Notebook (Tree-free stone paper, from £6.79 ex VAT), the Forma Notebook (Paper; certified on request, from £8.22 ex VAT) and the Ledger Hardcover Journal (Paper; certified on request, from £13.58 ex VAT).

Which branded reusable water bottles do you offer?

The Brook Glass Bottle, the High-Grade Steel Bottle, the Customisable Sipper Bottle and the Atlas Steel Bottle, from £10.01 ex VAT with a minimum of 25. Steel bottles can be laser engraved, UV printed or screen printed; on the Brook the logo goes on the sleeve.

Do you have eco friendly promotional keyrings?

Not as a product with a stated eco attribute at the moment. We have branded keyrings and pen and keyring packs, but none of them currently states a recycled, organic or similar material on its product page, so we do not list them here. If you need one, tell us in your quote request and we will tell you what we can document before you order.

Can you send documentation for our ESG or sustainability report?

Yes, within what each product offers: certificates where the product page says “certified on request”, batch documentation where it says “documentation per batch”, an estimated carbon footprint per product in every quote, and sustainability reports with Scope 3 data for the merchandise you buy.

How long does production take?

10 to 20 working days after you approve the digital proof, with each product's own range in the table. Delivery time is added for the destination; give us your deadline so we can confirm it in the quote.
