Personalised work clothing for a whole team

Personalised workwear is what your staff wear on shift: the polo behind the counter, the shirt on reception, the apron in the kitchen, the sweatshirt on a cold morning. It has to be washed often, fit a mixed team and look the same on the fiftieth person as on the first, so this page is built around team orders: each model's stated minimum, an itemised quote, a digital proof and delivery to one site or to each person.

Choose the garment first (fabric, weight, colours and size range) and the logo second. If you want the background on how to plan a uniform by role, read our branded workwear guide; this page is where you compare the models and order.

How to choose personalised workwear by role

Start with where the garment is worn and how often it is washed, then compare what each product page states. The final composition and measurements are confirmed for your batch in the quote.

Hospitality, retail and operational teams

The Work Polo is the model built for staff who wear it every day: a 200 g/m² unisex polo with pre-shrunk fabric and a comfortable cut, in eight colours (red, burgundy, navy blue, royal blue, white, black, light grey and bottle green) and indicative sizes XS to 3XL, so one model can cover a whole workforce. For workshops, warehouses and technical service, the Heavyweight Polois 220 g/m² with pre-shrunk fabric; note that it comes in three colours (black, white and sky blue) and sizes up to 2XL, a shorter range than most polos, so check it against your team's sizes.

Reception, sales and customer-facing staff

The Corporate Polo is designed for a clean, uniform look at reception, in sales offices and on the shop floor, in seven colours (red, burgundy, white, navy blue, royal blue, black and light grey) and indicative sizes XS to 3XL. Where a collar and buttons are the dress code, the Custom Studio Shirt is a logo shirt for reception, the office and customer-facing teams; its composition, cut, sizes and embroidery position are agreed and confirmed in writing before production. The Premium Polo is the top-finish polo for branded uniforms, customer service and events.

Field teams, events and active days

Technical polos suit staff who are on the move. The Anti-Pilling Technical Polois 190 g/m² with moisture control, antistatic properties and a pilling-resistant finish, according to the supplier's product sheet; it comes in olive green, navy blue, black, slate grey, red and royal blue, sizes XS to 3XL. The Quick-Dry Polo is a 200 g/m² technical polo for event teams, instructors and outdoor staff, and the Lightweight Technical Polo is the lighter option for freedom of movement.

Kitchens, cafés and workshops

The Custom Bistro Apron is an apron with a pocket for hospitality, workshops and cooking events, quoted from batches of 50. Before production we agree the fabric, the length, the pocket and how well the marking withstands washing, and confirm the specification in writing. For more on fit and washing, read our guide to custom aprons for hospitality.

Colder months and back-of-house layers

A Crew Neck Sweatshirt with an embroidered chest logo works over a polo for shop teams and office uniforms, and the Harbor Zip Hoodie can be worn open with the logo still visible. For hot days or a lower budget, the Core Cotton T-Shirt is 180 g/m² pre-shrunk combed cotton, sizes XS to 3XL. New starters can receive the same kit in employee welcome packs.

Custom embroidered workwear or workwear logo printing?

Neither method is better in general: the right one depends on the logo, the fabric and how the garment is used. Each polo in the table lists its methods; the Studio Shirt and the Bistro Apron have their method confirmed in the quote once we have seen the design. For custom printed workwear on technical polos, the method is chosen with the fabric in mind and confirmed in the proof.

Workwear branding methods: best use, what to bear in mind and the models that offer each one
TechniqueBest forBear in mindAvailable on
EmbroideryA small logo on the chest or sleeve of a polo, shirt or sweatshirt; a raised, durable finish that suits garments washed often.Very fine strokes or small lettering may need simplifying; the digital proof shows the result before stitching.17 models
Screen printingLogos in one or a few flat colours repeated across many garments, and larger text on the back, such as a department or “Staff”.Each colour needs its own screen, so fewer colours mean less set-up per garment.15 models
DTG printingFull-colour logos, gradients and detailed artwork, with no screens to prepare. The result depends on the fabric and the garment colour; the proof shows it before production.16 models
Heat transferFine detail or several colours in a contained area, on the models that list it.Suits the chest more than a full back.Insignia Polo and Harbor Zip Hoodie

Where to put the logo on workwear

The left chest is the usual place for an embroidered logo on a polo, shirt or sweatshirt: visible to customers, discreet up close. The back takes larger printed text so staff can be identified across a shop floor or event site, and a sleeve can carry a department name or a second mark. On a zip hoodie the zip splits the front, so the logo goes to one side of the chest. Each position is quoted separately, and the digital proof shows the size and placement.

Personalised uniforms: sizes, colours and reorders

A personalised uniform has to work for every member of the team, not just the size on a spec sheet.

  • Sizes. Most polos in the table come in indicative sizes XS to 3XL; the Heavyweight Polo goes up to 2XL and the Classic T-Shirt to 2XL. Give the split by size and colour in your request: all sizes and colours of one model count towards its minimum.
  • Colours. Pick a model whose colour range covers your brand and, if you need it, a second colour to tell teams apart. The Work Polo has eight colours and the Corporate Polo seven.
  • Consistency. Keep a uniform to one or two models, and keep your approved proof (model, colour, method, position, thread or ink colours) so the next order can match it.

How much does branded workwear cost? Prices, minimums and lead times

The prices in the tables are starting prices per garment from the live catalogue. Indicative price, ex VAT; printing and delivery extra. UK import VAT and duties are paid on delivery.

What changes the final price

The garment (a technical or premium polo costs more than a basic one), the method and its set-up, the logo size and number of colours, the number of positions (chest, back and sleeve are quoted separately), the quantity over which set-up is spread, and delivery to one site or to each person.

Minimum order

Each model states its own minimum: 25 units for most polos, T-shirts and sweatshirts, 10 for the Insignia Polo, 50 for the Custom Bistro Apron and 20 for the Harbor Zip Hoodie. The quote confirms the minimum together with the branding method. If you need one or two garments, print on demand covers compatible products from a single unit, and the Insignia Polo and the Core Cotton T-Shirt can also be ordered online at a fixed price from their product pages.

Lead times

Production counts from your approval of the digital proof and is listed per model in the tables; where a table says “Confirmed in the quote”, it is confirmed in the quote. Delivery time is added for the destination, so tell us the date you need the workwear.

The quote itemises the garment, branding, packaging and delivery. Requesting a quote does not require payment.

Workwear with a documented material

If your uniform programme has sustainability requirements, document the material before you talk about it.

  • Sustainable Polo: its product page states “Responsible composition; documentation per batch”.
  • Sustainable T-Shirt: its product page states “Responsible composition; documentation per batch”.

A product page on its own does not prove a certificate. If your order has sustainability requirements, we confirm the composition and the certification that applies to the batch in writing before production. More on our sustainability page.

Branded workwear: frequently asked questions

What is the minimum order for branded workwear?

Currently 10 to 50 units depending on the model, 25 for most polos. Sizes and colours of the same model count together.

How much does personalised work clothing cost?

Polos start from £11.80 per garment, the Custom Studio Shirt from £12.80 and the Custom Bistro Apron from £3.04, all ex VAT and before branding and delivery. The quote itemises the garment, branding and delivery; UK import VAT and duties are paid on delivery.

Is custom embroidered workwear better than printed workwear?

Neither is better in general: embroidery suits a small chest logo on garments washed often, screen printing a few flat colours or back text, and DTG full-colour logos. The comparison table above sets out each method.

Which polo is best for everyday work?

The Work Polo is designed for operational teams who wear it every day; the Corporate Polo suits customer-facing roles, and the Anti-Pilling Technical Polo and Quick-Dry Polo suit active or outdoor staff. Our custom polo shirts page compares every model, and the polo guide compares fabrics in more depth.

Can you personalise shirts and aprons as well as polos?

Yes. The Custom Studio Shirt and the Custom Bistro Apron are quoted to your design: we agree the specification (for the shirt the composition, cut, sizes and embroidery position; for the apron the fabric, length, pocket and wash resistance of the marking) and confirm it in writing with a digital proof before production.

How long does branded workwear take?

Production counts from proof approval and is listed per model in the tables (10 to 14 working days for most polos); delivery time is added for the destination.

Do you deliver workwear outside the UK?

Yes. We deliver across the UK and internationally to Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Americas, to one address or to each member of the team; delivery is quoted according to the destinations.
