Branded Shipping Boxes: How to Choose One for Company Kits
Branded shipping boxes for company kits: how to size a box around the contents, printed box vs full print vs sticker, what goes inside and how to send kits to many addresses.
By Zintora Team

Branded shipping boxes are printed cardboard boxes that protect a company kit in the post and carry your logo to the door. Choose the contents first, then a box that fits them snugly, then the branding method: a printed box, a full-print box or a plain box with a custom sticker, approved on a digital proof.
This guide is for teams sending kits rather than selling online: welcome packs for new starters, thank-you boxes for clients, event mail-outs and year-end gifts posted to offices and homes. It covers how to size a box, which branding method suits which kit, how a shipping box differs from a gift box and a sleeve, what goes inside, and how to plan packing and delivery to many addresses. Every box named below is a live product in the Zintora catalogue, with the minimum order stated on its product page.
What branded shipping boxes are for
A shipping box has two jobs. The first is practical: keep the contents intact through a courier network and arrive in one piece. The second is presentation: the box is the first thing the recipient sees, so it sets the tone before the lid comes off. A plain brown box with a courier label does the first job. Custom shipping boxes with logo do both.
For company kits, the box also does a third job that e-commerce packaging rarely has to think about: it groups several branded items into one moment. A notebook, a pen and a bottle sent loose feel like stock. The same three items in a printed box with an insert card feel like a welcome. That is why the box deserves the same attention as the items inside it.
Common uses:
- New starter welcome packs posted to the office or to a remote starter's home before day one. Our employee welcome packs page covers what to put inside.
- Client mail-outs: thank-you boxes, renewal gifts and launch kits sent to a list of contacts.
- Event kits for speakers, delegates or virtual attendees who cannot collect a bag on the day.
- Year-end and milestone gifts sent to a whole team at once, often to many home addresses.
Contents first, then the box
The most common packaging mistake is choosing a box and then trying to fit the kit into it. Work the other way round.
- List every item and its size. Take the dimensions from each product page. An A5 notebook, a 14 cm pen and a steel bottle set the minimum inside length, width and depth.
- Lay them out flat. Decide whether the items sit side by side or stacked. Bottles and tumblers usually lie down; notebooks lie flat at the bottom.
- Add room for the insert and filler. A card, tissue or a simple divider needs a few millimetres. Too much empty space lets items move; too little crushes the card.
- Then pick the box. Compare the inside of the kit with the box dimensions on the product page and ask us to confirm the fit in the quote.
The Zintora shipping boxes are a flat, mailer-style shape. Most product sheets give 10 x 11.5 x 3 inches, and the Shipping Box with Logo sheet gives 12 x 10 x 3 inches. A depth of 3 inches suits notebooks, pens, keyrings, stickers, folded textiles and a bottle laid on its side. Taller items, such as a mug standing upright, need a different box, so tell us the contents and we will confirm what fits.

Printed box, full print or sticker: which branding to choose
The branding method changes the look, the setup and how flexible the box is across campaigns.
- Printed logo on the lid. The classic choice for a welcome pack or a client box. One clear logo on kraft or white reads well and looks considered. The Shipping Box with Logo and the Printed shipping box suit this.
- Full-surface print. The Full-print shipping box turns the lid and sides into one continuous design. It suits a product launch or campaign where the box is part of the message, but the artwork is campaign-specific, so leftover boxes are harder to reuse.
- Custom sticker. The Shipping Box with Sticker keeps the box itself plain and brands it with a sticker. It is the most flexible route when one stock of boxes serves several teams or campaigns: change the sticker, keep the box.
- Belly band. The Custom Box with Belly Band wraps the box in a printed band. The band can carry a name, a campaign line or an event date, which makes it a good fit for personalised or seasonal sends.
If you are unsure, start with the question "will we send this box again for something else?" If yes, a logo or a sticker is safer than a full-print campaign design.
Shipping box, gift box or sleeve?
These three are often confused when people search for corporate gift packaging. They solve different problems.
| Option | Best for | Strength | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Branded shipping box | Kits posted to offices and homes | Protects in transit and presents on arrival | Fixed depth; check the contents fit |
| Gift box | Gifts handed over in person or inside an outer carton | Presentation and a premium feel | Often needs outer packaging to travel |
| Belly band or sleeve | Personalising a plain box per campaign | Easy to change between sends | Adds a step to packing |
If the gift will be handed over at an event or in the office, a gift box may be enough. If it goes in the post, a shipping box is the safer starting point. Our branded gift boxes page compares gift box styles and ready-made gift sets, and our guide to corporate gift boxes shows how to build one step by step.
What to put inside
The box is only as good as what it carries. A few combinations that work in a flat shipping box:
- New starter box: the Grey four-piece welcome pack brings a grey A5 notebook, a steel bottle, a click pen and a metal keyring, or build your own with a T-shirt and a notebook from the catalogue.
- Client thank-you box: the Five-piece all-in-one pack holds an A5 notebook, a pen, a metal keyring, a steel bottle and a thermal tumbler, so it covers the desk and the drinks break in one gift.
- Event or launch mail-out: a notebook, a pen and stickers, with a printed card that explains the launch or the event.

See all ready-made sets on our packs page. Add an insert card with a short message, a QR code to an onboarding page or a note from the team. Tissue paper or simple filler stops items moving, and a divider keeps a bottle away from a notebook cover.
Packing and delivery to many addresses
Kits sent to one office are simple: one delivery, one contact. Kits sent to fifty homes are a logistics project, and this is where most delays come from.
- Collect addresses early. Ask for delivery addresses, sizes (if the kit contains clothing) and a phone number for the courier at the start, not the week before.
- Decide who packs. Packing fifty kits by hand takes an afternoon in an office. We can assemble, pack and ship on your signal, so each kit leaves already packed and labelled.
- Split by destination. Group home addresses by country so customs paperwork, where needed, is handled once per group.
- Stagger if needed. New starters join on different dates. Kits can be prepared in one production run and dispatched in waves; tell us the dates in your request.
We deliver to offices and homes across the UK and internationally to Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Americas. State the countries and the number of addresses in your request; delivery and the timing of each shipment are confirmed in the quote. Our guide to gifts for remote employees covers collecting sizes and addresses for a remote team in more detail.
Timing and the digital proof
Plan backwards from the date the kits must arrive. For a complete kit, production typically takes 10 to 20 working days after proof approval, confirmed in the quote, and the boxes themselves are listed at 10 to 14 working days after proof approval. Add time for collecting addresses, packing and the courier.
Before anything is produced, you receive a digital proof of the box showing the position, size and colour of the logo, and of the items inside. Check it carefully: the proof is where you catch a logo that sits too close to the fold, a colour that looks different on kraft than on white, or a card message with a typo. Nothing is produced until you approve it.
Send your logo as a vector PDF, SVG or EPS where possible. A high-resolution PNG with a transparent background can also work.
Sustainability and materials
The boxes are cardboard. The product pages do not attribute an environmental certification to them, and we do not claim one. If recycled content or a specific material matters to your policy, say so in the request and we will confirm what the box for your batch is made of in the quote. A plain kraft box with a sticker, reused across several campaigns, is often the simplest way to avoid printing boxes you will not use. Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum order for branded shipping boxes?
It depends on the box. The Premium shipping box with logo has a stated minimum of 10 units. The Shipping Box with Logo, Printed shipping box, Full-print shipping box, Shipping Box with Sticker and Custom Box with Belly Band each have a minimum of 50 units. The quote confirms the final quantity.
Can I see the box before it is produced?
Yes. You receive a digital proof showing the box with your logo, its position, size and colour, and the items inside. We do not send physical pre-production pieces; nothing is produced until you approve the digital proof.
Are these custom mailer boxes for an online shop?
They can be, but they are designed and quoted for company kits: welcome packs, client mail-outs, event kits and gifts. If you ship large volumes of retail orders every week, tell us the volume and we will tell you honestly whether these boxes fit.
Can you pack the kits and send them to each person?
Yes. We can assemble, pack and dispatch kits to your schedule, to one office or to many home addresses. State the countries and the number of addresses in your request.
How do I get a price?
Send the contents, the quantity, the branding and the delivery addresses through our quote form. Every item is priced on quote, ex VAT, and a specialist prepares the proposal with a digital proof.
