Corporate gift boxes are branded boxes filled with a curated set of items, such as a notebook, a pen, a bottle or a hoodie, sent to clients or employees as one gift. To build one, choose a printed kraft box or a rigid gift box, fix a budget per box, pick contents to match and decide where each box goes.

This guide explains how to build branded gift boxes step by step: the two box options, contents by budget from our catalogue, packing and insert cards, delivery to many addresses, and why a non-food box can be a better choice than a corporate hamper. If you want ready-made compositions with a price per box, compare them on our packs page; for gift ideas by recipient, see our corporate gifts page.

Prices in this article are the indicative starting prices shown on the product and pack pages in October 2026: ex VAT, with printing and delivery extra. UK import VAT and duties are paid on delivery. The quote confirms the final figure for your order.

Corporate gift boxes vs corporate hampers

A corporate hamper is traditionally a basket or box of food and drink: wine, cheese, chocolates, biscuits. A corporate gift box swaps the food for branded objects the recipient keeps and uses.

Zintora does not supply food or drink hampers. Our catalogue is built around branded merchandise and gift boxes, so every box we build is a non-food box: stationery, drinkware, tech, textiles and desk items. That has three practical advantages:

  • It lasts. A journal or a travel mug is used for months; a hamper is finished in a week.
  • It carries your brand. Each item can be personalised, not just the outer box.
  • It travels. Non-food items avoid best-before dates, allergen questions and the extra checks that can apply when food is sent across borders.

The UK £50 rule for business gifts

There is also a tax angle. Under HMRC's guidance on business gifts, gifts to clients are generally not deductible against profits. One exception covers gifts that carry a conspicuous advertisement for the business. That exception does not apply if the gift is food, drink, tobacco or a voucher exchangeable for goods, or if the total cost of gifts to the same recipient in the tax period exceeds £50.

In plain terms, a branded, non-food gift box can qualify if your gifts to that recipient total £50 or less in the tax period (the accounting period, for a company), while a food hamper cannot, however well it is branded. HMRC's guidance also says the advertisement should be on the gift itself, not only on the wrapping, so brand the items inside, not just the box. Gifts to your own employees follow different rules.

General information, not tax advice. Check with your accountant.

Step 1: choose the box

Zintora offers two packaging options for gift boxes. Both are personalised with your design, and the digital proof confirms the artwork before production.

The kraft box, from £2.86 ex VAT, looks natural and works for most team gifts. The rigid box, from £4.65 ex VAT, turns the opening into part of the gift: the logo goes on the lid and the brand story or a thank-you message can be printed inside it.

Step 2: fix the budget and choose the contents

Start from the budget per box, then choose the items. The fastest route is a ready-made pack, each with its own price per box and minimum.

£60 and aboveRemote Team KitSummit Hoodie, Ember Mug and Relay Power Bank, in a printed kraft box£63.6210 boxes

If the £50 rule matters to you, look closely at the boxes near that line: the Executive Client Gift Box already starts at £52.90 ex VAT before personalisation and delivery. Your accountant can tell you which costs count.

Building a custom branded gift box

You can also build a box item by item. A simple example under £20 of items: a printed kraft box (£2.86), a Forma Notebook (£8.22), a Linea Gel Pen (£2.68) and a Loop Sticker Pack (£4.25), which comes to £18.01 per box before printing and packing.

Keep two rules in mind. Each item has its own minimum, so the item with the highest minimum sets the smallest run of a custom box (the Linea Gel Pen, for example, starts at 100 units). And a ready-made pack has its own minimum, often lower than buying the same items one by one, so compare both in the quote.

Step 3: packing and insert cards

What goes around the items matters as much as the items:

  • A card. A printed card with a short message from a named person turns a box of products into a gift. The Welcome Kit Pro includes a personalised welcome card, and the Aurora set comes with a letterpress card.
  • The inside of the lid. On the rigid gift box, print your thank-you message or brand story inside the lid, where it is the first thing the recipient reads.
  • A fitted interior. Items that move around in transit arrive scratched. The Crate box uses filling fitted to the contents.
  • One box, one story. Choose items that belong together (a desk set, a commute set, a first-day set) rather than a mix of whatever fits.

Ask how individual items are wrapped inside the box before you approve the packaging; the packaging and filling materials are confirmed in the quote.

Step 4: delivery to one address or many

Corporate gift boxes go either to one place (an office, an event venue) or to each recipient. We coordinate both across the UK and internationally to Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Americas.

For delivery to many addresses, prepare a single list with the recipient's name, full postal address, a phone number for the courier and the box variant (size or colour, if it changes). Transport per address is quoted separately, and individual delivery costs more than one bulk delivery, so include it in your budget from the start. For recipients outside the UK, ask in the quote how import VAT and duties are handled for each destination.

For remote teams, the employee welcome packs page explains how welcome kits are sent to each new starter's home.

Lead times

Standard production is 10 to 20 working days after proof approval, confirmed in the quote. Where a product page states its own production time, that one applies: the Crate rigid gift box, for example, lists 14 to 18 working days. Welcome kits take 10 to 15 working days. Transport is added on top, so for year-end gifts start in October; see our Christmas corporate gifts page for seasonal boxes.

Sustainability without overclaiming

A box sized to its contents generates less waste than an oversized one with filler, and useful items get used instead of thrown away. Each quote includes an estimated carbon footprint per product, we can provide sustainability reports with Scope 3 data, and certificates for certified products are available on request. If you plan to describe a box as sustainable, ask for the documentation first; our guide to sustainable corporate gifts explains what to check.

Frequently asked questions

What should go in a corporate gift box? Three to five useful items that belong together, with the brand on each, plus a card. A notebook, a pen and a travel mug is a classic client set; a T-shirt, a bottle, a notebook and stickers is a classic welcome set. For premium client boxes, see our guide to luxury corporate gifts.

Do you make food hampers? No. Zintora builds non-food gift boxes from its merchandise catalogue. If you need food or drink, a specialist hamper supplier is the right choice for that part.

How much does a branded gift box cost? In our catalogue, ready-made boxes start at £18.59 per box ex VAT (Conference Booth Kit) and reach £63.62 for the Remote Team Kit. Personalisation, packing and delivery are quoted on top.

What is the minimum order for corporate gift boxes? It depends on the box: from 10 boxes for several ready-made packs, and 50 for the printed kraft box or the rigid gift box on their own. Each page states its minimum.

Can you deliver each box to a different address? Yes, across the UK and internationally to Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Americas. Send one address list with the quote request and transport per address is quoted separately.
