Fabric bags: how to choose a custom tote bag for your business
Compare tote bags by use, dimensions, handles and fabric weight. Pick a tote for an event or a welcome kit and cost the logo without forgetting the extras.

To choose custom tote bags for a business, decide first what they will carry. A tote for a leaflet and a notebook does not need the same thing as a bag meant for a laptop or the weekly shop. Start with the contents, then the fabric, and leave the printing until last.
Test with the real contents
Lay out everything you will hand over on a table: documents, bottle, notebook and box. Measure the whole set and leave some margin so it can go in and come out without straining the seams. Check whether the handles allow the bag to be carried on the shoulder and whether a gusseted base is necessary.
The Everyday cotton tote is a long-handled option for events and light gifts. The Fold tote is another option in the catalogue if you want to consider a packable format. Confirm the composition and dimensions of the final model; a picture does not let you work them out.

Fabric weight, weave and stitching are not the same thing
Fabric weight (gsm) describes how heavy the cloth is per square metre, but on its own it does not prove how much a bag can carry. Construction, how the handles are attached, the stitching and the intended use all matter too. For demanding loads, ask for a documented usage limit and test a sample with your own contents.
| Need | What to prioritise | Alternative worth comparing |
|---|---|---|
| Leaflets at a trade show | Easy access and low volume | Long-handled tote |
| Training materials | A base and room for a notebook | Gusseted tote or backpack |
| Frequent commuting | Comfort when carrying weight | Backpack with shoulder straps |
| Food for a working day | A suitable interior that can be cleaned | Cool bag |
If the contents mean you need your hands free, consider the Daily backpack. For food or drink, the Picnic cool bag answers a different need; do not assume a keep-cool time without a specific specification.

Design around the fabric
A compact one-colour logo can be simple to reproduce, but whether it works depends on the material and the technique. Ask for a mock-up with size and position, especially if the artwork has fine lines or areas close to seams. For multicolour designs, compare the printing options on the same bag.
Do not call a bag sustainable just because it is made of fabric. Ask about composition, traceability, care instructions and the evidence behind any certification. It also counts that the person receiving it can genuinely reuse it.
From the starting price to the full quote
The Everyday tote page shows an indicative reference price for a reference batch of 100, before marking and delivery. It is a budget target for a basic configuration, subject to the model and availability, not a guaranteed price with your logo. Ask for the total including printing, preparation and transport so you can compare proposals: request a quote or browse our catalogue.
